"Polyjesters" - A touring musical company |
|
The
Polyjesters are Canadian brothers Jason and Sheldon Valleau who hail from
Alberta and honed their musical talents in Europe playing for everyone from
passers-by while they busked to the Prince of Monaco. They play everything
from Billie Holiday to The Beatles…from old swing/jazz standards to
alternative country. A breadth of musical appreciation that produced their
special home-grown blend called CHUNK, a unique sound that is highly
energetic, completely contagious, unfailingly entertaining and appeals to a
wide range of musical taste. Swingin’ Folk Chunk - a mix of music on
acoustic instruments and 4 part harmony. On stage antics and humour in a
Canadian style, enjoyable for all ages. An evening not to be missed!

Potto Open Gardens Sunday
20th July 2008
The event was very well supported, despite the odd shower,
we had over 300 people attend. Thanks should go to all
those who put in such hard work in preparation, including
especially those who opened their gardens and manned the
cake and plant stalls, not forgetting the splendid displays
at the village hall of local artwork and flower
arrangements.
Special thanks to Pam Fanthorpe, without her enthusiasm the
event wouldn't have happened and to her and John for opening
their gardens up for the superb cream teas - and all who
helped serve them.
Final figures are not available but we will have made a
healthy profit to go towards the village hall improvement
fund.
